Shehbaz, Maryam say PML-N supremo will bring prosperity to nation
\nLAHORE
\nThe Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday held power shows in different parts of the country on Friday in connection with its preparations for welcoming former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on his return home next week.
\nAddressing the public gatherings, senior party leaders, including PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, said that Nawaz Sharif would change the destiny of the nation and provide big relief to the people.
\nAddressing a rally in Sheikhupura, former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif defended the performance of the previous 16-month coalition government, saying that \u201cwe saved the country from default\u201d. He said that had Pakistan defaulted, there would have been no politics in the country.
\n\u201cIf Pakistan had defaulted, there would have been no politics and political rallies. Even Nawaz Sharif would not have been able to come back,\u201d Shehbaz said. \u201cMy colleagues [in the coalition government] and I, saved the country from going bankrupt,\u201d he added.
\nShahbaz said that Nawaz was returning to Pakistan on October 21. \u201cYou have to come out to welcome him and then vote him to power. Nawaz Sharif will come to power and resolve all the problems of Pakistan and lead the country on the path to progress,\u201d he said.
\nShahbaz recalled the previous tenure of Nawaz as the prime minister from 2013-17. \u201cIn 2013, there was electricity load-shedding for 20 hours. Nawaz Sharif ended the load shedding by working day and night. The country was developing rapidly, during his tenure,\u201d he added.
\n\u201cNow, Nawaz Sharif has to be brought to the government to achieve Quaid-e-Azam\u2019s Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif will end terrorism, reduce inflation and bring down the electricity prices in the country,\u201d the former prime minister told the gathering.
\nMaryam Nawaz, meanwhile, addressed the public gathering in the Sanghar district of Sindh via a video link. She said that those who destroyed the economy, brought sea of inflation and terrorism to the country had gone.
\n\u201cNow Nawaz Sharif, who eradicated load shedding, inflation and terrorism in his past tenures, is returning to the homeland. Nawaz Sharif guarantees the development of Pakistan, including Sindh. he will bring peace, progress and prosperity to the country,\u201d she said.
\nMaryam recalled that Nawaz gave peace to the whole of Pakistan, including Karachi and Sindh, and and he would ensure Sindh\u2019s progress in future. \u201cThe people of Sindh are democrats, the people of Sindh should vote for Nawaz Sharif.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
