PESHAWAR
\nKhyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar has decided to open nursing institutes in Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral and Upper Dir.
\nThis decision has been taken keeping in mind the backwardness of these areas in view of providing the best health facilities here.
\nIn this regard, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of KMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Zia ul Haq, in which Registrar KMU Inam Ullah Khan Wazir and a high-level delegation of Chitral Nursing Forum led by Jafaryad Hussain chairperson and Nasir Ali President attended the meeting.
\nThe delegation said that Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, and Upper Dir are among the most backward districts of the province.
\nWhere education and health facilities are non-existent due to which most of the male and female students are deprived of higher education.
\nThey said that nursing is a noble profession which is rendering valuable services in the service of suffering humanity.
\nThey said that incidentally, the educated youth of Chitral, especially women, are deeply interested in the nursing profession, so if they are provided opportunities for nursing education at their doorsteps, it will not only benefit the nursing profession but also opportunities will also be available to the youth of these districts to serve in the nursing profession.
\nAddressing the meeting, vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq assured the delegation that KMU will use all resources to implement their demand.
\nHe said that KMU has established its sub-campuses in eight different districts of the province during the last three years, so with the availability of suitable locations in Upper Chitral, Lower Chitral, and Upper Dir, nursing institutes will be established in these districts on a priority basis.
\nHe said that in view of the shortage of nurses in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KMU has given special importance to nursing education and other necessary measures will also be taken on a priority basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
