{"id":362782,"date":"2023-10-21T08:39:27","date_gmt":"2023-10-21T03:39:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=362782"},"modified":"2023-10-21T08:39:27","modified_gmt":"2023-10-21T03:39:27","slug":"kp-transport-dept-launches-crackdown-on-overcharging-fares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/kp-transport-dept-launches-crackdown-on-overcharging-fares\/","title":{"rendered":"KP transport dept launches crackdown on overcharging fares"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> PESHAWAR<br \/>\nSpecial Assistant to the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Transport and Housing Zafarullah Khan Umarzai, has issued clear directives for transport officials to take strict action against transporters  overcharging passengers.<br \/>\nTheir mission is to visit passenger hubs daily and take stern action against drivers who overcharge passengers, ensuring that the benefits of reduced petroleum prices are passed on to the general population.<br \/>\nIn alignment with the caretaker provincial government\u2019s special instructions and the guidance of the Special Assistant for Transport, the Provincial Transport Authority and Regional Transport Authority have launched an extensive operation in collaboration with the district administration.<br \/>\nThey have initiated visits to locations such as T-road and others, commencing legal proceedings against those found overcharging passengers.<br \/>\nThe Motor Vehicle Examiner in Peshawar, along with Traffic Inspection Staff (TIS), has been promptly addressing this issue by issuing challans to several drivers who have been overcharging passengers. Authorities are now instructed to perform daily inspections at transport bases and bus terminals, scrutinizing fare collection from passengers.
