However, citing the Supreme Court of Pakistan order, Additional SessionsJudge Tahir Abbas Sipra said that the apex court had directed that trial against Imad Yousaf, a co-accused in the case, be brought to a close. Sipra ordered the SHO to arrest and produce Gill in the court whenever and wherever he was seen. An additional district and sessions court in Islamabad had on July 26, 2023 declared PTI leader Shahbaz Gill an absconder following his constant failure to show up in a sedition case. Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra gave the ruling after the suspect failed to show up in court for a long time despite issuing summons to him multiple times.
