All Pakistan CNG Association KP has called for a protest against rise in gas tariff
\nPESHAWAR
\nAll Pakistan CNG (APCNG) Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter on Wednesday announced shutting down all CNG stations across the province in protest against the rise in \u201cunjust\u201d gas tariff.
\nThe provincial chairman of the association Fazal Muqim Khan has claimed that the federal government has increased the gas tariff which will both affect consumers and stations owners. He expressed these views while addressing a protest and sit-in on University Road Peshawar. The protest was held on the call of the association chairman and participated by the owners of the CNG stations. According to details, the APCNG also held an emergency meeting which was attended by Chairman Khalil Khan of Mardan, Chairman of Malakand Swat Haji Tahir Ali, Chairman of Charsadda Haji Zarif Khan, Asif Zaman Khan of Kohat, Abt. Shiraz Ahmed from Abad, Asif Khan from Mansehra, Maqsood Anwar, Ghalib Khan, Minhajuddin and others were also present in the meeting. While deciding the future course of action in the meeting, all officials and workers staged a protest dharna, blocking University Road for all kinds of traffic.
\nThe people participating in the protest carried placards and banners in their hands, on which various slogans were written in favor of their demands.
\nSpeakers also addressed the sit-in and raised slogans against the increase of gas tariff by 200 percent by the federal caretaker government.
\nAddressing the protestors, provincial chairman Fazal Moqim Khan said that in the current situation, where inflation and unemployment have broken the backs of the people and the business class, the recent increase in gas prices by the federal government has also affected the country.
\nHe said that KP has always been discriminated against in the matter of gas distribution and even now, the increased prices have made up for it.
\nFazal Moqim Khan termed the recent increase in gas prices a systematic conspiracy against the CNG sector.
\nHe clarified that if the federal government does not withdraw the decision of this increase, the protest will be widened.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
