\nPresident of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Fuad Ishaq urged the government to take pragmatic steps for promotion of foreign investment in the country.
\nThe SCCI chief said a conducive environment should be provided for local and foreign investors.
\nHe also called for offering special incentives and facilities to foreign investors.
\nThe chamber president steered the need of signing the \u2018charter of economy\u2019 while keeping view of the prevailing economic instability.
\nFuad Ishaq was talking to president of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Nasir Awan during a meeting here at the chamber\u2019s house, according to a press release issued here on Friday.
\nIjaz Khan Afridi, vice president of the chamber and senior journalist Aftab Ahmad alias Lala also present during the meeting.
\nThe meeting agreed to make joint efforts to enhance bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, exchange of business delegations, launching joint ventures, program and taking mutual benefits from each other\u2019s experience for business expansion and removal of obstacles in the way of mutual trade.
\nIshaq said KP is a lucrative destination for local as well foreign investment wherein ample opportunities are available to make investment in natural deposits, like mining, oil, gas marble and other potentials.
\nHe invited the foreign investors to make investment afore-mentioned sectors in KP and initiate joint ventures and programs and take mutual advantages by exploring new investment avenues and each other\u2019s experiences.
\nNasir Awan said BCCI is taking proactive measures for facilitating the Pakistani business community and investors to improve the current bilateral trade volume between two countries and lead Pakistan\u2019s economy toward stability and sustainable growth.
\nFuad Ishaq called upon the authorities concerned to take tangible steps to enhance demand for Pakistani products in the UK and EU market.
\nThe SCCI chief stressed the need for ripping the benefits of the EU\u2019s Generalised Scheme of Preferences+ (GSP+) status so that the country\u2019s bilateral trade with EU nations can be further improved.
\nHe urged both governments to take joint steps to facilitate the business community to further strengthen the bilateral trade volume.
\nIt is noted to mention here that the BCCI and SCCI had already signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), aimed at further improving bilateral trade and economic relations and better facilities for the business community of the both countries by joint initiatives and programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
