\nState Bank of Pakistan under the Prime Minister Youth Loan Scheme has introduced a scheme to issue loans to young, male and female entrepreneurs for investment and doing business in various sectors including solar energy, renewable energy, at discounted markup, through which the youth will promote their businesses.
\nThe Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Fuad Ishaq announced the setting up of a Bank Facilitation Desk at the Chamber House to facilitate the business community.
\nAccording to the details, the Regional Business Head of First Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bank, Sharaf Nisa Khattak, held a meeting with the President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fuad Ishaq, at the Chamber House, said in a press release issued here on Tuesday.
\nOn this occasion, the vice President of the chamber Ijaz Khan Afridi, Secretary General Sajjad Aziz and others were also present.
\nDuring the meeting, Sharaf Nisa Khattak, Regional Business Head of First Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bank Limited informed that bank has offered 5% markup loans on solar energy and renewable energy to youth, male and female entrepreneurs under PM Youth Loan Scheme.
\nShe also informed in detail about the provision of loans at low markup rate by the bank and its various schemes for doing business\/investment in various sectors including business.
\nThe senior officers of the bank have requested the chamber to organize an awareness session about the loan schemes on easy terms for the youth on behalf of the bank at the SCCI level and also to inform the members about these schemes.
\nSharaf Nisa Khattak also urged to set up a special facilitation desk of the bank at the level of Sarhad Chamber, which President of the chamber Fuad Ishaq agreed to in the chamber house.
\nFuad Ishaq, while speaking on the occasion, has assured the senior officer of the bank to create awareness among the youth\/members about various schemes for doing business on easy terms and low markup rate.
\nThe SCCI chief said that the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been severely affected by terrorism and the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown, while traders and exporters were facing many difficulties due to the far away from the sea port.
\nHe emphasized that the government and commercial banks should take steps to address the problems of the business community and ensure the provision of low markup and interest-free loans for the development of small and medium businesses and industries.
