\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission released the monthly report (October 2023), highlighting significant developments in healthcare regulation and quality enhancement across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nAccording to the report During the month of October, 2,575 HCEs were registered, and 10,909 were geo-tagged in the field.
\nThe Commission regularly provides training to the staff of healthcare centers on Minimum Service Delivery Standards. In the month of October, 49 staff members of 16 Hospitals were trained.
\nProvisional licenses were awarded to 16 Hospitals during this month. Expert assessors evaluated 12 hospitals across the province.
\nThe Commission utilizes a comprehensive strategy to combat quackery, encompassing the facilitation of registration of qualified healthcare providers, the execution of eradication campaigns, and the enhancement of public awareness.
\nAccording to the report, HCC teams inspected a total of 297 health facilities. Out of which 96 were issued notices, and 31 were sealed due to non-compliance with regulations.
\nThe Commission received 223 complaints during this quarter and successfully resolved 20 %.
\nFive days\u2019 capacity building training were conducted with the collaboration of MTI Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar on Biomedical Equipment, in which inspectors, assessors were take participation.
\nThe Chief Executive Officer Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission Dr. Nadeem Akhtar expressed that this report reflects the Commission\u2019s commitment to enhancing patient safety and healthcare quality in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with its dedication to transparency, accountability, and the highest standards in healthcare delivery for the benefit of the people in the region.
\nThe Hospital Director of Khyber Teaching Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Zafar Afridi, met with the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Anwarul Haq Kakar, in Islamabad.
\nDuring the meeting, Dr. Afridi presented a three-year performance report of Khyber Teaching Hospital. The Prime Minister appreciated the recorded changes and developments in the hospital, as well as its excellent treatment services.
\nThe hospital director of Khyber Teaching Hospital, Dr Muhammad Zafar Afridi, met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr Anwarul Haq Kakar, at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad yesterday. Dr. Afridi presented a model of the Khyber Pass as a souvenir to the Prime Minister, along with a booklet of the three-year performance report of Khyber Teaching Hospital. The Prime Minister appreciated the tireless work and efforts of the administration, stating that he is aware of Khyber Teaching Hospital\u2019s role as a model healthcare institution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nDr Afridi also presented a list of further development works and details that have not been completed due to a reduction in the budget. The Prime Minister assured Dr. Afridi that more budget will be approved by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The establishment of a new OPD building, modular operation theatre, new emergency building construction, Pakistan\u2019s first helium-free MRI machine, Pakistan\u2019s first general and ancient hospital with an ISO certificate, and other amenities was appreciated by the Prime Minister.
\nFurthermore, Dr. Zafar Afridi invited the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, to Khyber Teaching Hospital as Chief Guest and inaugurated the newly constructed ICU complex along with a cath lab and Pakistan\u2019s first 1.5 teslas helium-free MRI machine. The Prime Minister showed keen interest and assured Dr. Afridi that in his next visit to Peshawar, he will visit Khyber Teaching Hospital and solve the problems faced by the hospitals on a priority basis. The provision of the best medical facilities is one of the government\u2019s top priorities.
