\nKP Caretaker Minister for Local Govt and Rural Development (LG&RD) Engineering (PHE), Engineer Aamir Durrani has said that the caretaker provincial government is ready for the elections and is in contact with various departments in this regard.
\nExpressing satisfaction over preparations regarding elections by various departments, he said that the caretaker provincial government will play its full role for holding transparent election, saying the preparations of all departments are complete in this regard.
\nHe expressed these views while addressing a meeting regarding election preparation here on Monday. Besides, Secretary Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD) Daud Khan, Special Secretary Muhammad Masood, , Coordinator Local Governments Sajid Gul and other relevant officials also attended the meeting.
\nOn this occasion, the authorities gave a detailed briefing on the measures taken in connection with preparations for the general election in the province, challenges of facilities in the polling station for the election staff and other weather and security measures.
\nThe authorities said that beside security plan, the services of Education, Health, Higher Education, Local Governments and Rescue 1122 will also be obtained. A detailed discussion was also held on sensitive polling stations in the province. The authorities also gave a detailed briefing on the transport, food and other facilities for polling staff in remote areas on the day of the election.
\nPrior permission for rallies and public meetings of political leaders from the Deputy Commissioner concerned also come under discussion during the meeting.
\nProvincial minister said that soon the Chief Election Commissioner will visit the entire province and review the election arrangements.
\nThe authorities said that there are 14,310 total polling stations in the province, including 5896 sensitive polling stations, 1274 snow-affected polling stations and 120 flood-affected polling stations.
\nAccording to the authorities, there are 2,16,00000 voters in the province, out of which 54% are men and 45% are women voters. According to the briefing, the number of voters from 18 to 35 years is 10,791.77.
\nThe authorities also consulted with the district administration about CCTV cameras, IT staff and universities for the duty of staff on the election day and presented a plan regarding transport and other facilities and security for women staff in remote areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
