LAHORE
\nPunjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi reached Cavalry Ground, Lahore, and visited the Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass Project where he inspected the progress of ongoing construction works in the project.
\n\u201cAbove 90 percent work of the Khalid Butt Chowk underpass project has been completed. The underpass will be completed by the middle of this month,\u201d he said and directed to speed up the work on the project.
\nProvincial ministers \u2013 Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir and Ibrahim Hasan Murad accompanied the chief minister. The chief minister inspected the construction of the inner walls of the underpass, and he also gave instructions to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) director general for plantation and landscaping on greenbelts around the project.
\n\u201cKhalid Butt Chowk Underpass will be opened for traffic soon. With the completion of the project, as many as 180,000 vehicles will be facilitated daily,\u201d Mohsin Naqvi said. \u201cPeople of Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, Cantt Cavalry Ground, DHA and Walton areas will benefit from the project,\u201d he added.
\nThe Lahore commissioner, chief engineer and contractor gave a briefing on the progress of the project to the chief minister. \u201cThe work on the inner walls of the underpass will be completed in the next few days. Work to build the inner road of the underpass continues day and night,\u201d the chief minister was briefed.
\n\u201cWork on the decking slab of the underpass and the roads along is also in full swing,\u201d he was briefed further. The Lahore deputy commissioner, DIG Operations, CTO and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
