\nBeing the root of all existence and living with dignity, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal\u2019s philosophy of Khudi (self) has inspired the Muslims of subcontinent to achieve a separate state in subcontinent where they could live with prosperity and practice religious obligations with complete freedom.
\nAfter debacle of 1857 war, the Muslims of Indo-Pakistan subcontinent were subjected to different forms of discrimination and inhuman treatment by the colonial masters, who considered them rivals after snatching powers from Mughals that ruled on subcontinent for nearly 800 years.
\nThe Muslims were deprived of all kinds of rights and liberties including education, employment, social, economic and independence in that era of discrimination.
\n\u201cThe colonial rulers had mostly tilted towards hindus compare to the muslims and empowered hindus especially in education, employment, economic and political services in a bid to prolonged their rule and keep Muslims backward,\u201d said Professor Dr Muhammad Naushad Khan, former Chairman Pakistan Studies Department, Islamia College Peshawar while talking to APP.
\nIn such a grim situation, he said that great muslims reformer and educationist Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, religious leaders Shah Waliullah, Mujadad Alif Sani and legendary poet philosopher, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal came forward for help and guidance of the Muslims and infused new spirit among them to regain their past glory.
\n\u201cDr Allama Muhammad Iqbal\u2019s philosophy of Khudi or selfhood has not only changed the mindset of the muslims youth but helped them to believe in own abilities and strength imperative to achieve their ultimate goal of Pakistan,\u201d he said.
\nHe said significance of Khudi in an individual was a source of strength through which we can bring ourselves closest to the ultimate goal.
\nHe said Dr Muhammad Iqbal had faced criticism mostly from religious people on concept of self or khudi but he didn\u2019t stop himself from sharing his thoughts to the people of subcontinent that later helped him to achieve Pakistan.
\nThe Poet of the East had presented his philosophy in a very unique and creative way by using high poetic imaginations but his words cannot be understood by everyone because he was an ocean of knowledge.
\nHe said Dr Iqbal has comprehensively explained selfhood\u2019s significance in his book \u2018Asrar-i-Khudi\u2019 and said the aim of life of a person should be self-realization, believing in own abilities and self- knowledge.
\nThe architect of two nation theory has often used Shaheen (Eagle) as a source of strength to motivate the youth of all ages irrespective of borders and geography.
\nIt was his inspired teachings and Allabad Address 1930 that united the Muslims of subcontinent at Lahore on March 23, 1940 where the historic Pakistan\u2019s resolution was passed and after its seven years of adoption Pakistan came into being on world map on August 14, 1947.
\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor in a message on Dr Allama Iqbal day said that poetry, ideology, values and new thinking of the national poet has inspired several generations and his Khudi teachings was a beacon of light for people and the country\u2019s devolopment and prosperity.
\nHe said that Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal had taught youth about living with dignity and exploring opportunities for themselves besides informed about sacrfices of our fore fathers and identity of Muslims.
\nHe said Dr Iqbal\u2019s teaching was mainly revolved around peace, brotherhood, unity, political tolerance and mutual coexistence.
\nThe Governor said that unity was a key element to put the Pakistan on road to progress and development and achieve success in all fields of life.
\nHe said work with unity and right direction was guarentee to our success in this world.
\nMeanwhile, the Iqbal day was celebrated with national enthusiasm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
\nThe day dawned with special prayers in mosques for progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
\nPolitical, cultural and literary organizations organized special programs and highlighted the matcless services of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal for Pakistan.
\nWalks and rallies were held in all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where debate competitions in educational institutions organized.
\nThe speakers highlighted life and services of the national poet and said that history of Urdu and Persian literature as well as Pakistan Movement would be incompleted without mentioning Dr Muhammad Iqbal\u2019s universal Poetry.
\nThe speakers said the country\u2019s existing challenges could easily be addressed by strictly adhering to Dr Muhammad Iqbal teaching of Khudi.

\nIn light of the guidelines of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee, the Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out a large-scale crackdown for the complete elimination of drugs.
\nIn this regard, Excise Police Station Mardan under the supervision of SHO Police Station Excise Mardan Akif Khan has foiled the attempt to smuggle a huge amount of drugs to Punjab by conducting a major and historic operation. According to the details, Excise Police Mardan signaled to stop a vehicle bearing number EB 94 Islamabad on Ring Road Mardan, while during the search, 96000 grams (96 kg) of hashish was recovered from the vehicle. During the operation, two accused Ali Akbar son of Dilshad and Ali Haider son of Gulzar Muhammad from Faisalabad were arrested on the spot.
