Azam Khan was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Charsadda, Govt announces a three-day mourning in KP.

\nCaretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Azam Khan has passed away. He was 89. Caretaker Chief Minister, who was being treated for multiple health complications, breathed last at Rehman Medical Complex, a private hospital in Peshawar, early in the morning on Saturday.
\nRehman Medical Complex (RMC) spokesperson Shabbir Shah confirmed the news to the media in a statement. He added that the former bureaucrat was admitted to an intensive care unit last night after he fell unwell a day ago.
\nAzam Khan became interim CM KP in January this year following the dissolution of the provincial assembly by the then Chief Minister Mahmood Khan after his party chief Imran Khan, chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced to quit Punjab and KP assemblies.
\nPTI was the ruling party in KP and Punjab at the time of dissolution of the aforementioned assemblies in the country.
\nHe did his law degree from Law College, University of Peshawar and was a Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln\u2019s Inn, London, and had earlier served as minister for interior, capital administration and development in the caretaker cabinet of ex-premier Nasir-ul-Mulk in 2018.
\nHailing from Charsadda district, Mr Khan served as a provincial minister for finance, planning and development in the cabinet of caretaker provincial minister of Chief Minister Shamsul Mulk from October 2007 to April 2008.
\nMuhammad Azam Khan who served in various interim cabinets at provincial and national level, was an astute bureaucrat who had served as chief secretary KP from September 1990 till July 1993. He was the chairman of the Pakistan Tobacco Board. After serving on many key positions, he had retired as a federal secretary.
\nHis death was condoled by the prime minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, former CMs KP Mahmood Khan, Pervaz Khattak, Amir Haider Khan Hoti and prominent political leaders of the country. PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi and PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan said they were saddened by the loss and sent their prayers to Khan\u2019s family.
\nFormer Prime Minister Sehbaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam )JUI-F) Maulana Fazalur Rehman also condoled the death of Azam Khan and termed his service as a bureaucrat and member of interim governments with golden words.
\nPresident Dr Arif Alvi also expressed his grief at the sad demise of Azam Khan and in his condolence message said that Mr Khan was a gentleman whenever he met him.
\nIt may be pertinent to mention here that the provincial government has announced a three-day mourning in KP.
