\nPakistan won\u2019t be able to get past New Zealand\u2019s NRR even if they win against England. Pakistan were knocked out of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Saturday after failing to achieve the required net run-rate target against England in Kolkata during their final round-robin stage match.
\nPakistan needed to restrict England to 100 runs to have any chance of qualifying for the semi-finals but, since the latter have gone past that figure, the Men in Green are now out of the event.
\nPakistan won\u2019t be able to chase down England\u2019s target within the required overs, keeping NRR in mind, even if they hit a six on every ball.

\nIf score is 50 \u2014 Pakistan need to chase in 2 overs
\nIf score is 100 \u2014 Pakistan need to chase in 2.5 overs
\nIf score is 150 \u2014 Pakistan need to chase in 3.4 overs
\nIf score is 200 \u2014 Pakistan need to chase in 4.3 overs
\nIf score is 300 \u2014 Pakistan need to chase in 6.1 overs
\nPakistan have won four and lost as many matches during the tournament before today\u2019s encounter against England.
\nPakistan all-format skipper Babar Azam is considering relinquishing the captaincy, specifically stepping down from leadership in white-ball cricket. As per sources, the 29-year-old has been seeking guidance on his future, consulting with former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja and people close to him.
\nDuring the training at Kolkata\u2019s Eden Gardens on Friday, Azam sought advice from Ramiz Raja.
\nThe decision on whether to continue as captain will be influenced by consultations upon his return to the country. In the current circumstances, Azam values the advice he receives, particularly from his father.
\nExpressing disappointment with the conduct of the PCB and former cricketers, Azam has received counsel from those close to him advising him to step down from leadership in all three formats.
\nSources further added that the suggestion is based on the belief that prominent captains have faced challenges in Test series in Australia. Consequently, individuals in Azam\u2019s inner circle have recommended he step down from captaincy roles in both red and white-ball cricket.
