\nJustice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench has sought details of cases against former interior minister Sheikh Rashid.
\nThe court while issuing notices to the respondents directed that court should be told on next hearing Sheikh Rashid was nominated where and in what cases after May 9 incident.
\nThe court issued these orders during preliminary hearing of Sheikh Rashid\u2019s petition on the fears expressed by him through his supplementary statements that he will be involved in May 9 cases.
\nSheikh Rashid, his counsel Sardar Abdul Raziq and junior lawyer Sardar Shahbaz Khan were also present in the court.
\nThe counsel for Sheikh Rashid took the plea the petitioner is being subjected to political vendetta while supplementary statements have no legal position.
\nThe court inquired why the petitioner is becoming worried from going to in-laws.
\nThe court while issuing notice to Punjab government, IG Punjab, RPO, CPO Rawalpindi and other respondents following the preliminary hearing of the petition has summoned details of all cases against Sheikh Rashid within two weeks.
\nIt is pertinent to mention here that Sheikh Rashid while making IG Punjab, CPO Rawalpindi, and others respondents in his petition to seek awareness about the cases against him had taken the stance his name is not included any where among the nominated accused in FIRs registered in connection with May 9 incident.
\nHe had expressed fear in the petition that he is being involved in different cases unjustly under supplementary statements after lapse of 7 months despite the fact that he does not know the cases are registered in what cities. Therefore, it is requested to court to issue orders for providing him details of cases registered against him.
\nSheikh Rashid while talking to media men later outside court said police had given statement in high court before his chilla (seclusion) there is no case against him. The court has sought details in how much cases my name has been given. My bail pleas will be decided in Anti Terrorism Court tomorrow.
\nI have already given power of attorney to Latif Khosa, Aitzaz, Suleman Akram Raja and Sardar Abdul Razzaq and they will be my attorney if I go to jail. I will contest election forcefully even if I am in jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
