\nStricter security measures required for foreign investment: Mian Zahid Hussain
\nISLAMABAD
\nChairman of National Business Group Pakistan, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, and All Karachi Industrial Alliance, and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain said on Monday that the economy is the main target of the terrorists because enemies don\u2019t want Pakistan to come out of problems.
\nWhenever economic conditions in the country start to improve and the environment is favourable for investment, terrorism starts which wastes all the efforts to revive the economy, he said.
\nMian Zahid Hussain said that almost all countries, foreign institutions and investors make decisions about investing in any country in the light of IMF opinion and economic rating. When the IMF\u2019s opinion about Pakistan and the rating of international organizations start to improve, terrorism starts to stop investment, which is worth considering.
\nTalking to the business community, the veteran business leader said that the government, army, most of the political parties and other institutions are on the same page about the economy, which is having a better effect on the overall situation.
\nHowever, he said, at such a time, terrorism has started which is disturbing and condemnable and against the interests of Pakistan.
\nThe business leader further said that due to the efforts of the caretaker government and the army, there has been a reduction in smuggling, hoarding, dollar mafia and illegal immigrants, reducing the burden on the economy.
\nBecause of SIFC, the investment environment was improving, and foreign investors were getting serious about investing in Pakistan. Still, on such occasions, enemies once again started terrorist activities to scare away investors, he said, adding that the main target of these terrorists seems to be Pakistan\u2019s image and SIFC.
\nMian Zahid Hussain further said that friendly countries have promised huge investments in Pakistan, but such incidents may weaken their intentions.
\nChinese interests have been repeatedly targeted before, which is unfortunate. To solve these problems, the security system will have to be improved so the country can be brought out of economic problems.
\nHe said that it is expected that SIFC will attract foreign investors, conduct road shows, and one-window operations and quick decisions will prove to be game changers. The enemies of Pakistan want to change the direction of the capital coming to Pakistan; in this regard, they use all kinds of tactics, including terrorism and political chaos in Pakistan, which need to be eradicated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
