{"id":372233,"date":"2023-12-05T09:26:21","date_gmt":"2023-12-05T04:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=372233"},"modified":"2023-12-05T09:26:21","modified_gmt":"2023-12-05T04:26:21","slug":"finance-secretary-assures-ecp-of-releasing-poll-funds-in-two-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/finance-secretary-assures-ecp-of-releasing-poll-funds-in-two-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Finance secretary assures ECP of releasing poll funds in two days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nFinance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal assured the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday that the funds allocated for the upcoming general elections would be disbursed within the next couple of days.<br \/>\nBosal made these remarks while talking to media after meeting the ECP officials in Islamabad.<br \/>\nHe ensured the release of the necessary funds by the ministry.<br \/>\nReferring to the ECP\u2019s letter which was received on Nov 18, he said that the disbursement of funds required approval at various levels within the ministry.<br \/>\nThe ECP had summoned the finance secretary over lack of funds provision by the government. The government had allocated Rs42 billion for the general elections in the current fiscal year\u2019s budget, only Rs10 billion had been provided to the ECP by the Finance Ministry. The remaining funds were yet to be disbursed without any justifiable delay.<br \/>\nDespite repeated requests, there had been no positive response from the Finance Ministry regarding the release of the funds. In response to this, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja decided to apprise Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar about the Finance Ministry\u2019s failure to provide the necessary funds.<br \/>\nEarlier in the day, the ECP took strict notice of the non-delivery of funds allocated for the general elections 2024 and summoned the Finance Secretary in this regard.<br \/>\nOn the invitation of the Election Commission, Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal reached the Commission and met with the Election Commission officials, during which the issue of non-supply of funds was discussed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD Finance Secretary Imdad Ullah Bosal assured the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday that the funds allocated for the upcoming general elections would be disbursed within the next couple of days.
