{"id":373382,"date":"2023-12-10T09:25:46","date_gmt":"2023-12-10T04:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=373382"},"modified":"2023-12-10T09:25:46","modified_gmt":"2023-12-10T04:25:46","slug":"justice-naqvis-pleas-against-show-cause-notice-fixed-for-hearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/justice-naqvis-pleas-against-show-cause-notice-fixed-for-hearing\/","title":{"rendered":"Justice Naqvi\u2019s pleas against show-cause notice fixed for hearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nThe constitutional pleas filed by Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi against the show cause notice issued to him by Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) fixed for hearing on December 15.<br \/>\nAs per details, a three-member bench comprised of Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Musarrat Hilali, headed by by Justice Aminuddin Khan has been constituted.<br \/>\nOn November 20, Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi challenged the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) inquiry launched against him over alleged misconduct and assets beyond means.<br \/>\nThe top court judge challenged the SJC inquiry in the Supreme Court. \u201cThe campaign against me is an attack on the judiciary,\u201d Justice Mazahar Naqvi said.<br \/>\nHe said SJC sent notice of further proceedings without fixing the objections and SJC\u2019s October 27 press release is a \u201cviolation\u201d of fundamental rights. He pleaded with the apex court to issue an order against the SJC inquiry launched against him.<br \/>\nIt is pertinent to mention here that the complaint was filed against Supreme Court Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi in the Supreme Judicial Council. The complaint was filed against the apex court judge in the judicial council, by Mian Dawood Advocate.<br \/>\nThe complaint included charges of misconduct, illegal assets and amassing money with frontmen. The complainant has pleaded to the judicial council to remove Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi from the august office of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.<br \/>\nIn April, Justice Isa and Justice Masood had written a judicial letter to Justice Bandial, then the CJP, to convene an SJC meeting to review these allegations.
