\nThe provincial president of Awami National Party Amil Wali Khan has said that delay in general elections will further exacerbate the country\u2019s political and financial situation. \u201cANP will not accept any delay in elections scheduled for February 8 2014\u201d he said.
\nHe said this while addressing a worker convention in Dir\u2019s Rabat on Saturday.
\nTaking a jibe at Pervez Khattak, chief of PTI-P, he said that politics for politicians is vested interest and they change their loyalties to gain power.
\n\u201cANP won the case of Pakhtunkhwa in the form of the 18th constitutional amendment but in 2018 elections the party was kept out of parliament,\u201d he said and added that the party leadership faced terrorist attacks in previous general elections.
\nAimal Wali said that PTI halted progress and development in the country and termed tampering with the 18th constitution unacceptable.
\nHe said religion cards were used in polls to get support of voters and parties served their vested interests to gain power. He said that war in the name of Islam on the Pakhtun land is a war for usurping rights.
\nThe resources of the province were plundered, innocent people have been killed and no progress was made during the last so many decades, he claimed that it is unfortunate that Pakhtunkhwa produces electricity, but Lahore has the authority over it.
\nThe province that produces twice as much electricity as it needs is still suffering from darkness, oil, gas and minerals are also our products, but the province is deprived of its fruits.
\nOur children are deprived of health, education and other basic facilities. Our right to our resources should be recognized like Punjab\u2019s right to wheat.
