{"id":373698,"date":"2023-12-12T07:41:12","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T02:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=373698"},"modified":"2023-12-12T07:41:12","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T02:41:12","slug":"president-alvi-rejects-indian-sc-ruling-on-iiojk-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/president-alvi-rejects-indian-sc-ruling-on-iiojk-status\/","title":{"rendered":"President Alvi rejects Indian SC ruling on IIOJ&#038;K status"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> ISLAMABAD<br \/>\nThe Indian Supreme Court\u2019s (ISC) ruling to maintain the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s (IIOJ&#038;K) special status was sharply opposed by the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi on Monday.<br \/>\nHe expressed shock at the ruling, claiming that the Indian judiciary had given in to the fascist Hindutva ideology and was now making decisions that favoured the country\u2019s administration.<br \/>\nPresident Alvi added that such decisions could not legitimize the occupation of IIOJ&#038;K by India as the Jammu and Kashmir issue was an internationally recognized dispute that remained on the agenda of the UN Security Council for over seven decades.<br \/>\nWhile condemning the decision, the president said that it was unfortunate that Indian courts had a history of giving decisions against Muslims as in the cases of Babri Masjid, Samjhuta Express, Hyderabad Mecca Masjid blast and Naroda Gam massacre during the 2002 Gujrat riots etc.<br \/>\nHe added that the verdict of the ISC could not change the status of the IIOJ&#038;K. He said the Judgement would further strengthen the resolve of the people of IIOJ&#038;K in their just struggle against Indian illegal occupation.
