\nA protest demonstration against new schedule of power supply and unscheduled load shedding was held in front of local grid station tehsil Landi Kotal on Monday.
\nLed by local leadership of main stream political parties, people from different walks of life took out a rally near government girls\u2019 high secondary school.
\nThe marchers while carrying placards inscribed with slogans against excessive power off and black flags initiated protest sit-in in front of the grid station.
\nAddressing on the occasion speakers including Haji Muqtader Shah Afridi,Zernoor Afridi,Abdurrauf Shinwari,Malik Zahid and others unanimously rejected the new power supply schedule implemented at civilians feeders and said that provision of electricity in hours from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am could not meet needs of locals.
\nSupply of electricity as per new schedule compels women folk to stay up till mid night to fill potable water that was injustice to them, they remarked.
\nThey went on that the Tesco officials had already adopted policy of four hours supply of electricity to the area and in fresh schedule; the tribesmen could only get it mid night that was ebullient to deprive them of the facility.
\nThe protesters also criticized the local Tesco officials for conducting what they said unfair sections disconnections for smooth supply of electricity and urged them to ensure provision of power on equal basis.
\nThey threatened that if old schedule was not resumed in two days, they would come to the roads for indefinite agitation against it.
\nLater on, the protestors gave up their protest after the Tesco officials assured them for carry on the power supply as per old schedule.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
