\nMuhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party strongly rejected Indian Supreme Court\u2019s decision to uphold the revocation of the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), stating that India has expressed its hatred for the Kashmiri nation through the decision of its top court.
\nIn a statement issued here on Tuesday, Mr Shah expressed dismay over the court decision, saying the Indian judiciary had succumbed to the fascist Hindutva ideology giving decisions suited to the Indian government.
\nHe added that such decisions could not legitimise the occupation of IIOJ&K by India as the Jammu and Kashmir issue was an internationally recognised dispute that remained on the agenda of the UN Security Council for over seven decades.
\nYesterday, the Indian Supreme Court, in its detailed judgement, endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s unilateral move of depriving the occupied Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, in August 2019, by revoking the Article 370.
\nThe ATP chief stated that no one gave justice to the Kashmiris.
\nHe observed that the Indian Supreme Court\u2019s decision was against the Geneva Convention and the UNSC resolutions.
\nCommenting on the political scenario, Shah asserted reforms are critical for holding free, fair and impartial election.
\nHe said it is the duty of the government and election commission to create a conducive atmosphere for election and ensure level playing field for all political parties.
\nExpressing grave concern over rising prices of essential food items, The ATP chief demanded implementation of an effective price-control mechanism.
\nHe observed that the price-hike has touched a new peak, while local administration was reluctant to take action against profiteers.
\nThe ATP chairman said it has been made difficult to earn bread and butter for poor people.
\nHe said caretakers have failed to remove public miseries.
