\nThe Genesis and Timeline
\nThe Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act 2023 emerged amidst escalating legal discord involving substantial constitutional questions. Passed by Pakistan\u2019s Parliament on April 10, 2023, the Act sought to clarify the authority and discretionary power of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), and address issues pertaining to bench composition and suo moto proceedings, among others.
