KARACHI: Veteran television and film actor Mir Muhammad Lakho passed away in Karachi at his residence after a brief illness on Monday. He was 75. The actor who dedicated 40 precious years of his life confronted an abject financial crisis during the last days of his life. He projected phenomenal acting skills in Sindhi television plays and became popular with his character name \u201cNabu Kamdar\u201d across Sindh. The late actor appeared as Kamdar- a cunning advisor of a cruel feudal lord in several television plays and Sindhi movies during the 80s and 90. The eminent actor appeared in different Sindh and Urdu Television plays his famous plays include Wachuro, Jiyapo, Pather Duniya and Aas. He was born in Nawabshah district of Sindh and later shifted to Karachi following his heartfelt affiliation with acting. Senior actor Ali Gul Malah, Raffique Essani, Israr Laghari, Hyderqadri and others expressed deep grief on his demise and termed it a huge loss for Sindhi media. During the past few years his videos of appealing Sindh Government for financial assistance went viral on social media that sent a wave of resentment among the artist community thereafter he was reportedly assisted by the culture department. The acting duo of Mir Muhmmad Lakho and Shabiran Channa got recognition among people of Sindh specially after the launch of private Sindhi entertainment channels.
