Nawaz Sharif never played a match without umpires of his choice, says PTI founder

\nReacting to the Supreme Court (SC) verdict stripping the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of its \u201ciconic\u201d electoral symbol bat days before the general elections, the former ruling party\u2019s founder Imran Khan Monday remarked that an \u201cumpire gave a no-ball\u201d.
\nDuring an informal interaction with journalists in Adiala Jail, Khan said he was imprisoned under the \u201cLondon Plan\u201d, adding that attempts were made to eliminate the PTI under the covert agreement.
\nIn the past, the PTI founder had repeatedly been claiming that an \u201cagreement\u201d was signed in London which outlined that he would be put behind bars to crush his party and a clean chit would be given to the Pakistan Muslim Leaque-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.
\nFiring a fresh salvo at the three-time former prime minister, the incarcerated PTI founder said that Nawaz always plays matches with umpires of his choice, adding: \u201cThe day before yesterday, an umpire gave a no-ball.\u201d
\nTalking about the implementation of the alleged plot, the deposed premier said that \u201call the cases against Sharif have been ended.\u201d
\nPML-N supremo, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had obtained bulletproof vehicles from the ToshaKhana, Khan said, adding that nobody was ready to hold them accountable for it.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, Khan predicted: \u201cSomething very bad is going to happen to them.\u201d
\nHe demanded that an open trial of the cipher case should be conducted so that the people know the facts. \u201cThey ask me why did I not keep the cipher secret.\u201d
\nOn the other hand, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said his party\u2019s candidates would contest the upcoming elections as \u201cindependent candidates\u201d.
\nDuring an informal discussion with journalists in the same court, the PTI leader, while referring to the SC verdict, said: \u201cThe entire nation saw what sort of a level playing field the PTI received.\u201d
\nHe further said that his daughter\u2019s nomination papers were snatched when she went for scrutiny. She was compelled to leave her native city, Qureshi added.
\n\u201cWe accept the court\u2019s verdict. History will certainly write its judgment on the SC\u2019s verdict [on PTI election symbol]\u201d
\nTo a query, Qureshi said the PTI founder\u2019s sole demand was free and fair elections in the country.
