PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has passed The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa taking over of the industrial estate or economic Zone Bill 2016 and the K-P Adhoc Employees of Directorate of Information Technology (Regularization of Services) Act, 2016 on Tuesday.
\nThe Industrial Estates or Economic Zones of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Development Authority the KP Economic Zones Development and Management Company and to transfer its all assists to the company. The bill further said that the Industrial Estates or economic zones development and management company and to transfer all its assists and liabilities including employees to the said company for all the matters.
\nThe government has abolished the KPDA, established in 1972 via an act, in July by issuing an ordinance titled, K-P Taking Over of the Industrial Estates or Economic Zones Ordinance, 2016.
\nThe Law Minister Imtiaz Shahid Qurashi tabled the K-P Public Private Partnership Amendment Act 2016, a bill aimed at making changes in 5 sections of the K-P Public Private Partnership Act 2014.
\nThe bill makes changes in the section-9 of the act, making it mandatory for contracting authority-government entity-to take the approval of the chief minister for projects costing more than Rs500 million if it wishes to do them in public private partnership mode, while, for projects costing up to Rs500 the contracting authority shall decide itself the mode of its implementation under the PPP Act or else.
\nThe bill also increases a member of the Public Private Partnership Committee and states that the chief executive officer of the KP Board of Investment and Trade shall be the member of the committee
\nEarlier, in the question answer session, Pakistan People`s Party lawmaker Fakhar-e-Azam Khan asked details regarding saplings planted across the province under the PTI, Tree Tsunami project.
\nAs per the detail of Environment department over 93.5 million saplings have been planted across 28 forest divisions in the province.
\nFakhar-e-Azam Wazir said that the project is just limited on social media and there is no progress of the project.
\nThe special assistant to chief minister on Environment Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar in his reply said that the project is running successfully and has earned praised internationally.
\nHe invited Fakhar-e-Azam and other lawmakers for a trip to witness the success of the project. He told the house that they buy a Unit Nursery at Rs150, 000 to Rs180, 000 from private nurseries and a unit nursery comprised up to 3 Kanal areas.
