\nLiverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will leave the Premier League club at the end of the season.
\nKlopp was appointed as Liverpool manager on October 8, 2015.
\n\u201cJurgen Klopp has announced his decision to step down as LFC manager at the end of the season, having informed the club\u2019s ownership of his wish to leave his position in the summer,\u201d the club said in a statement.
\nAfter guiding the Reds to the EFL final on Wednesday, the 56-year-old will continue to manage the team for the remaining fixtures of 2023-24 before saying goodbye after a wonderful eight-and-a-half-year tenure at Anfield.
\nThe club has won six major trophies under Klopp\u2019s guidance to date.
\nAssistant managers Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite development coach Vitor Matos, will also leave their positions at the end of the season.
\n\u201cI can understand that it\u2019s a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it \u2013 or at least try to explain it,\u201d Klopp was quoted as saying by liverpoolfc.com.
\n\u201cI love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take.
\n\u201cIt is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.
\n\u201cAfter the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth \u2013 and that is the truth.\u201d
\nUnder Klopp\u2019s stewardship, Liverpool bagged the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Super Cup, as well as the FA Community Shield.
\n\u201cI told the club already in November. I have to explain a little bit that maybe the job I do people see from the outside, I\u2019m on the touchline and in training sessions and stuff like this, but the majority of all the things happen around these kind of things.
