\nGovernor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rahman attended the Kashmir Solidarity Day event as the Chief Guest, organized by the Department of Information and Culture Punjab at Alhamra Arts Council on Mall Road. The ceremony was attended by Secretary Information Daniyal Saleem Gillani, Director General Public Relations Punjab Rubina Afzal, Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mushtaq Mehmood, and a substantial number of attendees.
\nIn his address at the ceremony, Governor Punjab emphasized Pakistan\u2019s unwavering commitment to raising the Kashmir issue on global platforms, including OIC and the United Nations. He affirmed that Pakistan would persist in advocating for the cause, emphasizing its role in bringing attention to the Indian invasion and occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
\nGovernor Punjab highlighted that Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5, is a collective expression of millions of Kashmiris worldwide, along with the people of Pakistan, against India\u2019s aggression and occupation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The primary objective is to draw the international community\u2019s attention to the Indian occupation and oppression, advocating for the Kashmiris\u2019 right to self-determination.
\nHe asserted that the international community needs to recognize India\u2019s armed aggression on October 27, 1947, as a threat to regional peace. Governor Punjab stressed the importance of a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue in alignment with United Nations resolutions, noting that it would be beneficial for India as well.
\nMuhammad Balighur Rahman underscored the unity of the Pakistani and Kashmiri people, sending a clear message to the world that lasting peace in the region hinges on resolving the Kashmir issue. He condemned India\u2019s severe human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, transforming the region into an open-air prison.
\nGovernor Punjab urged the international community to focus on just solutions for both the Kashmir and Palestinian issues, emphasizing the urgent need for UN assistance for the vulnerable populations in these regions. He called on the media to effectively highlight Indian atrocities globally and urged social media platforms to expose human rights violations in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
\nExpressing his commitment, the Governor reiterated that the Government of Pakistan and its over 240 million citizens stand in solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris. Pakistan will continue supporting them through humanitarian, moral, and diplomatic means.
