\nPeshawar Zalmi head coach, Mohammad Akram has shed light on the team\u2019s preparations, player strategies, and hopes for the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
\nAkram addressed the issue of batting order and revealed that while there are no objections to star player Babar Azam playing in any position, the captain prefers to open.
\n\u201cWe have no objections to Babar Azam playing in any position, but he prefers to open. Babar Azam is the team\u2019s captain and has performed well in the opening position,\u201d Akram said.
\nAkram expressed confidence in the squad composition, highlighting the young talent like Mohammad Haris, whose maturity promises to add depth to the team\u2019s batting lineup.
\n\u201cWe have a good pool of both international and local players, Mohammad Haris has matured and will play good cricket, we have tried to select the best squad,\u201d he further added.
\nFurthermore, Akram also stated that Muhammad Yousuf\u2019s inclusion in the coaching staff is expected to provide valuable mentorship.
\n\u201cMuhammad Yousuf has been included in the coaching staff, he will work with young cricketers and with us as a batting mentor. Umar Gul has also been invited to the camp,\u201d Akram said.
\nWith regards to bowling, Akram stressed the importance of selecting top-quality bowlers, a tradition that Peshawar Zalmi has upheld.
\n\u201cIn Peshawar Zalmi\u2019s squad, there are experienced and junior competent players, every year we try to pick good bowlers, and this year, too, we have picked good bowlers,\u201d Akram further said.
\nLastly, amidst discussions about the tournament\u2019s schedule, Akram expressed the team\u2019s desire to play more matches in Peshawar, where their passionate fan base eagerly awaits the opportunity to support them on home turf.
