\nPakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says pol\u00aditics of violence cannot be tolerated.
\nWhile talking to re\u00adporters in Karachi on this evening, he said those involved in the at\u00adtacks on PPP workers would be dealt with iron hands. Bi\u00adlawal also said that his party will not forget the injustices meted out to it during the recent general elec\u00adtions and the martyrdom of Jiyalas. He mentioned that the opposition parties, protesting in the name of \u2018Dhandhali\u2019 (rigging), have never won elections in Sindh, while Imran Khan wants Mian Shehbaz Sharif to become the prime minister.
\nThe PPP chairman visited the house of Shaheed Abdul Rehman, a 12-year-old party worker who was martyred in an attack by armed MQM activists during the recent election campaign in New Karachi. He offered condolences to Shaheed Abdul Rehman\u2019s mother, Rasoola Bibi, and maternal uncle, Abdul Ghaffar, and offered Fateha for the martyr\u2019s eternal peace.
\nSpeaking to the media on the oc\u00adcasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that there was pressure on the fam\u00adily of Shaheed Abdul Rehman to end their association with the PPP, add\u00ading that when they did not comply, they were fired upon.
\nHe said that instead of providing justice to the victim\u2019s family, law enforcement agencies registered FIRs against it. He announced that his party\u2019s up\u00adcoming government in Sindh would form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate all violent inci\u00addents during the elections. \u201cBy giv\u00ading exemplary punishment to those involved in the violence as per the law, we will bring justice to our workers as well as all other politi\u00adcal workers, ensuring that such in\u00adcidents do not happen again in the future,\u201d he added.
\nThe PPP chairman said that the 2024 elections were not much dif\u00adferent from the 2018 elections, and recalled: \u201cI raised my objections to the election in front of the whole of Pakistan after the (party\u2019s) Cen\u00adtral Executive Committee (CEC) meeting.\u201d He said that, according to Forms-45, PPP candidates have won PS-124 and PS-125, but candi\u00addates from other parties have been declared successful in these con\u00adstituencies. He furthered that the PPP would fight its case on the rel\u00adevant forums regarding elector\u00adal discrepancies. \u201cI hope we will get justice, and if we don\u2019t, we will chalk out the future course of ac\u00adtion,\u201d he added.
\nThe PPP leader said that those who are protesting unnecessarily in the name of \u2018Dhandhali\u2019 in Sindh these days have not won a single election in the past. \u201cIt is strange that parties that cannot win elec\u00adtions without \u2018dhandhali\u2019 are now protesting against \u2018Dhandhali,\u2019\u201d he said, adding that these people are not against \u2018Dhandhali,\u2019 but they are asking for a free hand to en\u00adgage in rigging. He pointed out that in the 2002, 2013, and 2018 elec\u00adtions too, these parties had lost to the PPP.\u201d Addressing the protesting parties, he asked them not to just make allegations but to present ev\u00adidence. \u201cTell us which constituen\u00adcies and polling stations experi\u00adenced rigging. Has my Larkana seat been rigged? From where did I win with a lead of one lac,\u201d he asked.
\nResponding to a question, Bilaw\u00adal said that now the Sunni Ittehad Council (he meant PTI) should tell the truth to its workers that it does not have the majority to form the government, adding that the PTI did not stop Shehbaz Sharif from becoming the Prime Minister. \u201cIf Shehbaz Sharif is going to become the prime minister, he will thank us and the PTI, (because) I think Khan Sahib himself would have decided not to field a candidate against She\u00adhbaz Sharif,\u201d he contended.
\nTalking about the issue of writing a letter to the International Mone\u00adtary Fund (IMF), the PPP chairman said that writing a letter against Pa\u00adkistan to the IMF will not accom\u00adplish anything. However, after this letter, the real face of the person has been revealed in front of the public, who love his politics more than the national interest.
\nBilawal said that religious, lin\u00adguistic, and sectarian terrorism are our \u201cred lines.\u201d We will not tolerate these things neither in the metrop\u00adolis nor in this province. \u201cThose parties who want to promote ter\u00adrorism, it will be their mistake. (As) we will not allow this to happen here,\u201d he warned.
\nLater, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the residence of the party\u2019s Information Secretary, Shi\u00adraz Awan for PS-99 in North Kara\u00adchi and condoled the killing of his nephew and former General Secre\u00adtary of People\u2019s Youth Organization (PYO), Abdul Wahid Awan Shaheed. He also offered condolences to the martyr\u2019s father, Tariq Pervaiz, brothers Abdul Wajid, Hafiz Faisal, and Shah Rukh, and offered Fateha for the Shaheed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
