\nMuhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party said the alleged rigged polls had decimated the true spirit of democracy and democratic norms, stating stealing mandate of parties in elections is tantamount to rivalry with people and the country. Responding to various online queries of the general public here on Thursday, Shah said \u2018cronies\u2019 and \u2018blue-eyed\u2019 people have again come into limelight and distribution of power among them, which is equally tantamount to murder of people hopes and diminishing the true essence of democracy in the country.
\nHe added the ongoing tendency has created division between powerful and weaker segments.
\nThe ATP chief questioned why the nation was made a laughing stock if selection was to be made under the guise of electoral process.
\nIn elections, it\u2019s not merely about winning or losing, but about upholding the rights of the people, he emphasised.
\nFaiq laid stress on \u2018special\u2019 steps to cope with the challenges being faced by the country.
\nHe asserted it is essential to set up a true-public representative government.
\nThe party leader called for a charter of economy between all political forces and stakeholders to steer the country out from the crisis.
\nHe further emphasized upholding merit, rule of law, justice and public authority.
\nPakistan and the system should not be endangered, says Shah.
\nHe impressed upon the political parties committed to democracy to continue playing their role in safeguarding democracy and the constitution.
\nShah urged all the political forces to toe the \u2018special\u2019 line.
\n\u201cDo your politics, opposition is also a part of politics, but don\u2019t endanger Pakistan and the system.\u201d
