\nAt least 17 persons were killed and 23 were reported injured due the prolong spell of rain starting continuously from Thursday evening in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said DG Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Muhammad Qaiser Khan on Saturday.
\nDue to heavy rain in Gakhi Kundu Mahmond, three children died when the roof of the room of the house collapsed, Rescue 1122 said here Saturday.
\nAs soon as the control room received the information, the rescue 1122 disaster and medical teams reached the spot and started rescue operations.
\nRescue 1122 disaster team along with local people rescued the children from the debris, Rescue 1122 officials said.
\nThe roof of a crude house collapsed near Noothia Tilab Road. The official said. 15 animals (cows, sheep, goats) were buried under the debris, the official said. Rescue 1122 ambulances, disaster vehicles and teams reached the spot. Rescue 1122 teams have recovered all the animals safely. The family members were safe during the accident.
\nMeanwhile, Due to incessant rain, 234 feeders have been tripped due to fault and since Friday, last, 55 feeders have been restored after necessary repairs, spokesperson Pesco said. Due to the rains, the restoration of the feeders is facing serious problems, spokesperson Pesco said.
\nPesco field staff are engaged in power restoration ensuring all safety measures and a special crisis management cell has been set up in Pesco to deal with the situation. \nApart from humans, reports about perishing of livestock has also been received from authorities of Rescue 1122 KP. The deceased include children, women and men who died because of caving in of roofs of their houses.
\nMeanwhile, the newly elected Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Saturday expressed grief over the loss of precious human lives due to rains and snowfall in various districts of the province.
\nThe Chief Minister regretted the loss of precious human lives and expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families. The Chief Minister prayed for patience for the families of died and injured.
\nChief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also expressed good wishes for the speedy recovery for the injured.
\nThe Chief Minister directed the concerned district administration to ensure immediate relief to the affected families. He also directed the measures to restore the communication roads closed as a result of snowfall and landslides.
