\nOn the occasion of International Women\u2019s Day, a ceremony was organized at PIAF\u2019s main office by Chief Traffic Officer Amara Athar to pay tribute to women from industry, trade and other sectors of life.
\nChairman PIAF Fahimur Rehman Saigal, former Chairman PIAF Muhammad Ali Mian, Mian Abuzar Shad, Senior Vice Chairman PIAF Nasrullah Mughal, Vice Chairman PIAF Tahir Manzoor Chaudhary, Vice President Lahore Chamber Adnan Khalid Butt and business women in large numbers participated the event.
\nChairman Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) Fahimur Rehman Saigal while addressing a seminar, organized to mark International Women\u2019s Day, said that PIAF fully encourages and supports women in every sector.
\nHe said that PIAF is acknowledging and honoring the services of women entrepreneurs who are showing outstanding performance in their respective fields. He said that our aim is to present the eminent women who are known and recognized as high achievers so that our new generation can follow their footsteps.
\nHe said that PIAF would continue to promote such activities to encourage women entrepreneurs. He said that the economy cannot grow until women don\u2019t utilize their potential for economic development of the country.
\nThis is possible only if they are empowered. He said that Pakistan has a specific culture in which women face many challenges. Working women have to look after their home, children and business at the same time, which is not easy at all.
\nHe said that empowering women is pivotal for economic development. Women constitute a significant portion of the global workforce, and their contribution is essential for a thriving economy.
\nBy providing equal opportunities in employment, education and entrepreneur- ship, nations make sure that women have the space to unleash their full potential, and attain economic growth. Gender diversity in the workforce not only enhances productivity, but it also brings forth diverse perspectives that are crucial in today\u2019s interconnected world.
\nAs such, educated, empowered women lead the march towards improved health outcomes for entire communities. When women have access to education and healthcare, the overall wellbeing of families and societies gets upgraded. Educated women tend to make informed health choices that lead to healthier lifestyles for and themselves and their families.
\nBeyond the economic and health dimensions, women empowerment plays a pivotal role in shaping the cultural fabric of society. When women are given the needed space to express their voices, ideas and creativity, it enriches the culture.
\nArt, literature and various forms of expression flourish when diverse perspectives are embraced. Besides, when women participate in cultural and artistic endeavours, societies gain a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the larger human experience.
\nTo gain such an experience in society, governments, PIAF is ready to work together to break down systemic barriers that hinder women\u2019s progress. Equal we pay, access to healthcare, and protection against discrimination are crucial components of this effort. Moreover, cultural norms and stereotypes that promote gender inequality must be challenged and transformed to create a more inclusive and equitable society.
\nOnly by ensuring that women have equal opportunities and rights can we build a more prosperous, healthy and harmonious world for ourselves and our future gene-rations. Women are not just a moral compass; they are a strategic need for the betterment of society as a whole.
