Islamabad (PR): Prof.Dr.Shabbir Lehri, President Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has been elected as member at large for Management Committee of IAMRA in the 12th International Conference of International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) held on 20th to 23rd September in Malbourn Australia. He has been elected for a term of 04 years from 2016 to 2020.
\nPresident PM&DC is the only candidate elected from Asia which is an Honour for Pakistan and the entire region. Dr.Joanna Flynn (Australia), Ms.Susan Goldsmith (UK), Dr.Tebogo Kgosiesile (South Africa), Dr.Heidi Oetter (Canada),Dr.Carlos Vital (Brazillian) have also been elected in the contest.
\nThe meeting was attended by many delegates mostly head of regulatory authorities from all over the world .IAMRA currently has 103 members from 46 countries and PM&DC is a member organization. The IAMRA Management Committee has eight (8) members at large each of the world regions out of 8 members at \u2013large Prof.Dr.Shabir Lehri is one of them: There were candidates form Central &North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australasia -Pacific.
\nIAMRA has mandated its members to carry out the policies laid down by the general assembly and has fully empowered its committee members to perform all acts and transact all business for and on behalf of IAMRA.
\nThe Minister of NHRS&C Ms.Saira Afzal Tarar also congratulated president PM&DC on becoming part of such esteem organization.
\nShe said it is indeed a proud moment for Pakistan as being member of this committee President PMDC will be able to provide the leadership in the development and implementation of IAMRA\u2019s strategic plan and decisions worldwide. She said it is pertinent to mention here that IAMRA vision is that everyone around the world is treated and cared for by safe and competent doctors and it will also enhance the competency of doctors in Pakistan too.
\nWhile talking to PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Shabir Lehri the said that; it is great need of the region in general and Pakistan in specific to become member of the most active and esteemed organization for collaboration and implementation of latest methods and techniques in the developing countries and benefit from the latest developments. Ever since, Prof.Dr. Shabir Lehri has taken over as President PM&DC, he has attended all International meetings so far and it adamant to bring PM&DC at par with international standards. He believes that Institutions are made by people.
\nProf.Dr.Shbair Lehri President PM&DC also presented resolution for faculty exchange program of PM&DC, which also has been accepted unanimously by IAMRA members. By virtue of acceptance of this resolution a great change and improvement in medical and dental education is expected .Pakistani faculty will be exchanged for training purpose abroad and foreign faculty will visit Pakistan for exchange of training in medical and dental education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
