\nAfter receiving a broadside from President Joe Biden and his campaign, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has refuted the claims of being broke, issuing fresh statements about his reelection financing and fraud bond.
\nDonald Trump \u2014 who is facing 91 criminal charges in four indictments \u2014 said Friday morning: \u201cThrough hard work, talent, and luck, I currently have almost five hundred million dollars in cash, a substantial amount of which I intended to use in my campaign for president.\u201d
\nPresident Biden\u2019s reelection campaign on Thursday ribbed former President Trump\u2019s fundraising numbers, terming him \u201cBroke Don\u201d . \u201cNot a Winning Campaign: Broke Don Hides in Basement,\u201d the campaign wrote in an email. \u201cTrump can\u2019t raise money, isn\u2019t campaigning, and is letting convicts and conspiracy theorists run his campaign.\u201d
\nThe 77-year-old businessman was directed last month by a New York to pay $355 million in a civil fraud case. Finding difficulties in submitting the bond, Trump\u2019s lawyers said that they could not find any treasury-approved company to cover for him.
\nTrump recalling the judge\u2019s decision, wrote on Truth Social: \u201cThe often overturned political hack judge on the rigged and corrupt A.G. case, where I have done nothing wrong, knew this, wanted to take it away from me, and that\u2019s where and why he came up with the shocking number which, coupled with his crazy interest demand, is approximately $454,000,000.\u201d
\n\u201cI did nothing wrong except win an election in 2016 that I wasn\u2019t expected to win, did even better in 2020, and now lead, by a lot, in 2024,\u201d reiterating that he is being wronged.
\n\u201cNo trial, no jury, no crime, no victim, only a crooked judge and a corrupt, Trump-hating attorney general who takes her orders directly from the White House,\u201d Trump said of Judge Engoron and District Attorney of New York Letitia James.
