PESHAWAR: Chairman and founder of the Amun Taraqqi Party Muhammad Faiq Shah urged the rulers to pay attention to public problems instead of concentrating on personal issues. Chairing a meeting here at the party\u2019s central secretariat on Friday, Mr Shah said inflation-stricken people had pinned high hopes from the new government, which is diminishing rapidly as public owes are rising with each passing day. He said political leaders are deviating from its pre-poll commitment as implementation on manifestos is seen nowhere. The ATP chief made it clear that the country\u2019s economy cannot be put on a path of progress until salvation from the IMF. He maintained that those who talked about saying good-bye to the IMF have made another deal and trapped the whole nation under heavy debts. Shah alleged the government is mulling to impose additional taxes at the behest of the IMF. He said the rulers only focused on accumulation of wealth, capturing and looting state resources but never thought about public welfare and betterment. The party leader said that there was no institution and law to make the powerful answerable.
\nShah said the ruling elite imposed a reign of hunger, fear on the country.
\nFaiq laid stress on \u2018special\u2019 steps to cope with the challenges being faced by the country.
\nHe asserted the incumbent government should work as a true-public representative government.
\nThe party leader called for a charter of economy between all political forces and stakeholders to steer the country out from the crisis.
\nHe further emphasized upholding merit, rule of law, justice and public authority.
\nPakistan and the system should not be endangered, says Shah.
\nThe ATP chief urged all the political forces to toe the \u2018special\u2019 line.
\n\u201cDo your politics, opposition is also a part of politics, but don\u2019t endanger Pakistan and the system.\u201d
