\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the zealous people of the tribal districts have made immense sacrifices for the country and always played a key role in nation building.
\nGovernor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed these views during a meeting with a 120-member Jirga comprising elders of all the merged districts under the chairmanship of former federal minister Sajid Hussain Turi at Governor House Peshawar.
\nAll possible efforts will be made to ensure the rights of the erstwhile Fata and the promises made to the tribal people at the time of merger will be reviewed and a relevant forum will be taken on board to end the deprivation of tribal region.
\nHe also assured that arrangments will be made very soon to hold a meeting between the tribal jirga and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, prime minister and president.
\nThe Jirga included chiefs of the merged districts of Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, South Waziristan, North Waziristan and former FRs.
\nRepresenting the Jirga, Malik Khan Marjan Wazir from North Waziristan and Malik Bismillah Khan from Khyber district congratulated Faisal Karim Kundi on assuming the post of Governor.
\nOn this occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and former Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Tori were dressed in traditional longi and gifts were also presented.
\nFormer Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Turi, Malik Khan Marjan, Malik Bismillah Khan and former candidate from PK-70 Wahid Shah informed the governor about the difficulties faced by the tribal people and the concerns of the tribal people after the merger and said that the promises made after the merger were not fulfilled.
\nThese include three percent NFC award, doubling the quota of tribal students in higher educational institutions of the country, recruitment of 25 thousand Levies, declaring tribal areas as tax-free zones for 10 years.
\nThe chiefs also demanded the end of the long hours load shedding of electricity in the merged districts .
\nAddressing the Jirga on this occasion, the Governor said that the Governor House is the home of the tribal people whose doors are open for them at all times. As the representative of the federation, I will play my most effective role in the center.
\nHe asked the elders to form a five-member committee to present their concrete proposals for the solution of all the problems and difficulties faced after the merger.
\nRegarding the protection of the Sikh community, the governor said that the protection of every Pakistani is the responsibility of the state, he will give complete protection to the minority community and will talk to the IG police in this regard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
