\nSpeakers at a symposium held here noted that the government, civil society and leadership of the country needed to play a positive role in promoting youth leadership for establishing peace for the development and prosperity of the country.
\nThe symposium on \u2018Countering Violent Extremism\u2019 was held at the University of Swat.
\nOn this occasion, Kashif Irshad, Senior Manager of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Centre of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism, said: \u201cIt is the need of the hour to promote peace, tolerance and conflict resolution in the education system. Incorporating peace education into university curricula will help young people understand the root causes of conflict and the importance of peace.\u201d
\nHe said that efforts to promote cooperation and collaboration between youth organizations, government, NGOs and international organizations will help youth leadership to play a positive role in establishing peace
\nDr. Samiuddin highlighted the importance of youth in promoting a peaceful and economically vibrant society through perception management, broader narrative and consensus building.
