PESHAWAR
\nFormer senator Hidayatullah Khan along with three others were killed an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Bajaur on Wednesday.
\nMalakand Regional Police Officer Muhammad Ali Khan Gandapur confirmed the deaths and, said that the former senator\u2019s car was targeted in an IED attack in Bajaur\u2019s Damadola area.
\nHe told reporters that no one had claimed responsibility for the attack as of yet.
\nBajaur District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad said that the bomb disposal unit was conducting its investigation and the situation would be made clearer after its report.
\nHe added that the former senator was on the way to a by-election campaign in Damadola where he was attacked.
\nKP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the incident and summoned a report from police authorities.
\nAll aspects of the incident should be investigated and a report should be submitted, he said
\nKP government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif offered prayers for the deceased and said: \u201cSuch cowardly attacks cannot dampen our spirits.\u201d
\nKP Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry condemned the attack, saying that it was very unfortunate.
\n\u201cWe will not be discouraged by such cowardly attacks. The martyrdom of the former senator and others will not go in vain,\u201d he said, extending his condolences to the relatives of the three.
\nCS condemns Dama Dola Blast
\nChief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary has condemned Dama Dola blast and expressed grief over the loss of lives in the incident.
\nIn a statement issued here, he said that these acts of cowardice could not deter our resolve and courage to fight enemies of the country.
