\nOffice bearers of contractors association demanded the government to increase in schedule rate, abolish e-bidding system, fair distribution of development funds and demanded the formation of a high-level commission for investigation the allegations of large-scale corruption and commission in construction works. Addressing to a news conference at Mardan press club District President of Contractors Association Akbar Ali Kashmiri and General Secretary Abdul Haq, vice president Fahr-e-Alam, Sahar Sadique and other office bearers said that the chief minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur told the people that those officer demanded bribes should be beheaded.
\nThey added that everyone here is immersed in bribes. They added that the contracts are being allotted to the blue eyed and favorites, the provincial government, the bureaucracy and the finance department are openly demanding bribes from the contractors in the funds. They alleged that no work is done without 10 to 15% bribes. They argued that the contractors have been forced to leave the work due to departmental handouts, bribes and non-availability of funds.
\nThe office bearers demanded the formation of a high commission to investigate the alleged corruption in the June 2024 Funds release and said that the contractors should be given their legitimate rights and their economic exploitation should be stopped.
\nThey added that our community is suffering from many problems, the most important problem is the funds and the government should immediately release the funds.
\nThey demanded that a moratorium should be imposed on new development projects until the required funds are allocated for the ongoing ADP projects. They demanded that all works should be scaled according to the formula of the Engineering Council, and the new schedule should be issued according to the market rate of 2024. They demanded that the escalation formula approved by PEC should also be approved and profits should be given according to bank rules on security. They announced that if the demands are not accepted, 10,000 contractors and lakhs of workers will protest in front of the assembly and will not allow any minister or MPA to put up development projects and inaugurated it without releasing the funds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
