\nLike other cities, two processions started in Peshawar on the occasion of the 7th of Muharram wherein the first procession was taken out from Zawal Jinnah Imam Bargah Qamar bin Hashim, followed by the second and main procession of Shabiya Alam and Shabiya Zawal Jinnah that started from Imam Bargah Agha Syed Alam Shah Jafri.
\nThe main procession started from Kochi Bazar, Qisa Khawani, Mahalla Khudadad, Kohati, Church Road and ended at Imam Bargah before Maghrib prayer. A mourning assembly will be held before the procession.
\nIn the procession, the mourners mourned the martyrs of Karbala. All the arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the procession.
\nThe passageways of the procession cordoned off, while the cleaning work was also completed on the passageways of the procession.
\nThe central procession of 7th Muharram was taken out from Imambargah Alam Shah at Chowk Nasir Khan, which ended at the same place after passing through its traditional route in Peshawar city.
\nThe procession passed through Chowk Shahbaz, Mohammad Ali Jauhar Road, Qissa Khwani Bazaar, Mohalla Jangi, Jahangirpura, Chowk Kohati Gate, Imambargah Hussainabad, Akhunabad and Church Road under tight security.
\nSimilarly, another Zuljinnah procession was taken out from the MES Colony, Peshawar Cantonment, which culminated at Imambargah Hussainia, Peshawar Saddar. The speakers on the occasion urged the people to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs of Karbala and prepare themselves to face the new challenges created due to conspiracies of the Zionist forces against Muslims.
\nThey said that Shia and Sunni had no issue between them and only the anti-Islam forces were crating hatred among them to destabilize the Islamic states. The speakers said that the month of Muharram reminded them of the sacrifices rendered by the grandsons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and their companions for the supremacy of Islam.
\nThey talked about the conspiracies hatched by superpowers against Muslims and said that it was time that all the Muslims should join hands irrespective of their affiliations to foil the intrigues. Tight security arrangements were made to ensure protection of the people. All the link roads and streets were closed and the people were allowed to join the processions after thorough checking.
\nThe participants paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Karbala and pledged to follow footprints of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, who had sacrificed their lives for the supremacy of Islam.
\nThe speakers informed the mourners about the nefarious designs of the Zionist forces and urged the Muslims to remove their differences and forge unity to foil conspiracies against Muslims. In order to extend support to the law-enforcement agencies in maintaining peace, the workers of Imamia Students Organization and Mukhtar Force Scouts checked the people and kept a vigilant eye on movement of the suspected persons.
\nStrict security measures had been adopted to avert any untoward incident. All the link roads, pathways, entry points leading to the traditional routes of procession, had been blocked by barbed wire and cemented blocks.
