ISLAMABAD
\nOn the direction of Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has established a Climate Change Fund, a first in the history of Islamabad, to mitigate the affects of climate change in the ICT.
\nCDA has set up a special fund under the Climate Change Initiative to combat environmental degradation. Interior Minister commended Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa and his team for taking the lead in establishing the fund.
\n\u201cThe CDA team deserves accolades for this initiative,\u201d he said. Under this initiative, a \u201cCarbon Credit Program\u201d will also be launched in the city.
\nThe program aims to plant 4 to 5 million trees in designated areas spanning 2000-10,000 kanals. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the designated areas for tree plantation include new sectors, avenues, and other open spaces.
\nAdditionally, the \u201cMargalla Hills Fund\u201d has also been approved for recreational spots in Margalla Hills. The fund will designate 1.5 per cent of the revenue generated from these spots for the protection and beautification of Margalla Hills.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
