\nThe Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a weather alert, predicting heavy rain with thunderstorms across multiple districts of the province.
\nDir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kuram, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan are likely to experience severe weather conditions from July 16, an official\u2019s handout said.
\nDue to heavy rains, there is a risk of landslides in the mountainous areas of the province.
\nPDMA said and added that necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned district to ensure availability of small and large machinery to deal with any untoward incident in advance.
\nThe PDMA has issued instructions to the district administration to pre-emptively deal with any untoward incident due to dusty winds\/windstorm\/thunderstorm, PDMA added.
\nIn case of strong winds, people should stay away from power lines, dilapidated buildings and structures, sign boards and billboards.
\nTourists and local population in sensitive highlands have been instructed to take precautionary measures to be aware of weather conditions.
\nIn sensitive districts, the messages to the district administration should be conveyed to the local population in local languages.
\nIn case of any emergency, all concerned agencies should be vigilant in maintaining road links and provide alternative routes for traffic in case of road closure. PDMA said.
