LAHORE
\nThe Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab has arrested 38 terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations conducted across various cities of the province throughout the current month.
\nThe CTD\u2019s operations, carried out in cities including Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Narowal, Rawalpindi, and Multan, were aimed at countering terrorism fears and preventing potential attacks. The crackdown extended to Jhang, Sargodha, Khanewal, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, and Bahawalnagar.
\nAmong the significant arrests, a banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) trained terrorist from Lodhran and a Daesh (militant Islamic State group) commander in Bahawalpur were apprehended.
\nDuring these operations, CTD officials seized a substantial cache of illegal items, including explosives, hand grenades, arms, mobile phones, and cash. The confiscated materials are believed to be part of the terrorists\u2019 plans to launch attacks on law enforcement agencies and other key installations.
