\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif has strongly criticized the federal government\u2019s attempts to amend the Constitution to extend the Chief Justice\u2019s tenure, calling it an \u201cunconstitutional measure\u201d that will have dire consequences for the country.
\nSaif accused the federal government of trying to undermine the independence of the Supreme Judiciary and warned that accepting the extension would be tantamount to taking away the independence of the Supreme Court.
\nHe alleged that the Sharif family has a history of trying to control the Supreme Court and is now attempting to amend the Constitution to prevent the implementation of its decisions. Saif claimed that the Sharif family prioritizes personal interests over national interests and is harming the reputation of the country\u2019s Supreme Judiciary.
\nHe also criticized the federal government\u2019s formation through Form 47, saying it has caused irreparable damage to the country\u2019s reputation and institutions.
