Islamabad, September 13: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, stated that steps are being taken to transfer funds directly to the bank accounts of deserving women, following the directives of the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and in consultation with the State Bank of Pakistan. This initiative aims to ensure that beneficiaries can access their entitlements more easily, transparently, and with dignity.<\/p>\n

Senator Rubina Khalid shared these remarks while speaking to the media at the BISP office in Chilas. She said, “The purpose of my visit here is to directly meet deserving women and understand their challenges. I am visiting various locations across the country to better comprehend the issues they face.”<\/p>\n

She emphasized that there will be no tolerance for deductions from the stipends of deserving women or any form of mistreatment. BISP has established a modern call center with a helpline (0800-26477) for registering and addressing complaints.<\/p>\n

Senator Rubina Khalid further highlighted the difficulties faced by deserving women in traveling for registration in the program. She added, “We have requested the President and Prime Minister to provide more Mobile Registration Vans to ensure registration in remote areas.”<\/p>\n

Additionally, she discussed the Benazir Kafaalat, Taleemi Wazaif, and Nashonuma programs and announced the launch of the Benazir Skill Training Program to help deserving women and their family members improve their quality of life and contribute to the national economy. She also underscored the vital role of the media in raising awareness about BISP among eligible women.<\/p>\n

Earlier, during her visit to the BISP Chilas office, Senator Rubina Khalid met with deserving women, listened to their problems, and directed the BISP staff to resolve their issues promptly.
