\nPPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday expressed strong disapproval of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan\u2019s alleged statements targeting Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir and Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa cautioning that such actions would have serious consequences.
\nAddressing a National Assembly session chaired by Deputy Speaker, the PPP chief praised the people of Rahim Yar Khan for rejecting divisive politics, stating, \u201cThe people of Rahim Yar Khan have defeated the politics of hatred, division, and backbiting. I extend my gratitude to them.\u201d
\nBilawal further noted the victory of the party\u2019s candidate in Punjab, attributing it to the defeat of \u201cthe politics of backbiting and hatred.\u201d submission.
\nTurning his attention to Imran Khan, Bilawal alleged that the deposed premier had attacked constitutional institutions to further his political interests.
\n\u201cPrisoner number 804 has attacked every institution in the country to secure personal relief,\u201d Bilawal said, referencing Khan\u2019s criticism of the judiciary and military leadership.
\nPPP\u2019s Bilawal warned that if the PTI founder\u2019s alleged statement was authentic, the consequences would follow, as mandated by the constitution. He urged PTI leadership to clarify whether the statement came from Khan or was the work of someone else within the party.
\n\u201cImran Khan and his party will be responsible for the consequences if the statement is proven to be his,\u201d Bilawal stressed, adding that the democratic system would withstand such challenges.
\nAs the National Assembly session continued, reports emerged that both Houses of Parliament had been summoned later in the evening, only an hour apart.
\nThough the official agenda for the National Assembly session did not mention the proposed constitutional amendment, such matters are typically introduced through supplementary agendas.
\nAmong the scheduled items is an MQM attention notice concerning capacity payments to independent power producers (IPPs) and a notice regarding the proposed privatization of Pakistan Development Minerals Corporation.
\nParty sources revealed that PPP MNA Nafeesa Shah had been asked to remain in Islamabad, despite her plans to travel to celebrate the birthday of her father, former Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, indicating the ruling coalition\u2019s focus on ensuring maximum attendance for important legislative matters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
