\nCommissioner Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah has urged upon the people not to link polio vaccination with common demands like electricity supply, roads and gas because it is a question of the health of our children and their future, therefore every member of the society should administer polio drops to protect their children for saving them of lifelong disability.
\nThis he said while addressing an awareness session regarding the recent boycott of polio at Union Council Mandori of Tehsil Lachi at Type D Hospital Lachi as a special guest on Saturday which held under the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s Program \u201cAwami Agenda\u201d. Daud Shah Afridi MPA, Tehsil Chairman Lachi Ehsan Khan and EPI Coordinator Dr Mohabbat Ali Bangash and other speakers spoke on this occasion.
\nThe session beside others was also attended by the Frontline workers and community members of Tehsil Lachi.
\nCommissioner Kohat while appreciating the efforts of the polio teams during the recent campaign asked the parents to give their children polio drops as it is our basic and national responsibility.
\nDaud Afridi MPA in his address appealed the people to separate their daily life demands from polio drops. Expressing his full support for polio eradication efforts, he emphasized the importance of vaccinating children not only against polio but also against 12 diseases under the EPI program.
\nMr. Afridi urged the community to have a trust on their government and seek guidance from their elders and religious leaders also to clear any misunderstandings.
\nThe MPA emphasized the need to adoption a coherent strategy on Polio vaccination and take the public opinion leaders into confidence to deal with cases of denial of polio.
\nThe EPI coordinator while emphasizing the need to address the issues faced by frontline workers as well, said that the aim of the session was to create awareness about the importance of polio vaccination and to address the misconceptions and concerns among the community.
