He emphasized that polio remains a significant threat and stressed Pakistan\u2019s global responsibility to protect humanity from its dangers.
\nAddressing an emergency meeting with the health authorities of the province, the Chief Secretary termed the case alarming and said, \u201cThe detection of polio in a child is not just a concern for the affected family but for the entire province. We must conduct an in-depth study of the case to identify the root cause and re-align the strategy if required.
\nThe Chief Secretary further highlighted the importance of maintaining high immunization coverage, stating, \u201cRegardless of the challenges, it is imperative to achieve the required immunization targets, ensuring that every child receives polio drops. We have already invested substantial resources and effort into eradicating polio, and this case is a stark reminder that our work is far from over.\u201d
\nHe acknowledged the emotional toll such cases take on families and communities and extended his prayers for the affected child\u2019s recovery. \u201cIt is heart-wrenching to see a girl child impacted by polio.
