\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday strongly criticized the provincial government over its apathy to solve the violent territorial dispute among rivals groups in Kurram which had claimed several precious lives in the area so far.
\nIn a meeting with Bushra Gohar, the Chairperson of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Organizing Committee of the National Democratic Movement, here at the Governors House, Kundi expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in the area as well as the province.
\nHe said that unrest has fostered a sense of insecurity among the people of KP and required immediate attention of the provincial government.
\nThe meeting focused on significant provincial issues and the current national situation including the law and order situation, the closure of Torkham border, and the worsening situations in Parachinar.
\nHe said that the issue of Torkham border\u2019s closure was posing a barrier to trade and public connectivity between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
\nKundi said that he was in contact with the federal government to expedite a resolution to this matter, aiming to enhance commercial and economic activities between the two nations.
\nThe meeting concluded with considerations for organizing an all-parties conference to collaboratively address the province\u2019s pressing issues.
\nMeanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s first female paragliding pilot, Benazir Awan, called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
\nThe meeting focused on promoting adventure sports for women in the province and showcasing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s positive image globally.
\nDuring the discussion, Benazir Awan presented her proposals to create more opportunities for women in adventure sports, particularly paragliding.
\nShe emphasized the exceptional talents of women in the province and advocated for greater participation in adventure sports to highlight their skills on the international stage.
\nGovernor Faisal Karim Kundi congratulated Benazir Awan on her achievements, saying that her success is a source of pride not only for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but for all of Pakistan.
\nHe acknowledged her role in proving that women from the province can excel in any field, expressing his support for youth engagement and women empowerment.
\nKundi reaffirmed his commitment to encouraging talented youth and athletes, saying that the doors of the Governor\u2019s office are always open for those with potential, irrespective of political affiliations.
\nGovernor visits Swabi to inquire health of injured police officers
\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Friday made a special visit to Swabi where he met with injured police personnel and civilians at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) and Bacha Khan Medical Hospital.
\nDuring his visit, he expressed his hopes for their speedy recovery.
\nIn a brief interaction with the media, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that investigations into the incident are ongoing and emphasized the provincial government\u2019s responsibility to provide financial assistance to the injured.
\nHe also mentioned plans to coordinate with the federal government regarding this support.
\nThe Governor was briefed by doctors on the medical facilities being provided to the injured.
\nThe Governor assured that all possible resources will be made available for their treatment.
\nGovernor emphasizes heart health awareness
\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday underscored the essential role of medical professionals in assisting the suffering humanity and emphasized heart health awareness.
\nSpeaking as the chief guest at the Rahman Medical Institute in Hayatabad at the eve of World Heart Day, Governor Kundi highlighted the urgent need to address heart diseases through early diagnosis, prevention, and the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure.
\nThe event featured notable figures from the medical community, including Professor Dr. Muhammad Rehman, Chairman of Rehman Medical Institute, and Dr. Muqdad Khan, Head of the Cardiology Department, alongside various cardiology experts who presented research papers on heart health and shared recommendations for maintaining a healthy heart.
\nDuring his address, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi emphasized the necessity of focusing on heart patients in rural areas, where a significant portion of the population lacks access to basic medical facilities.
\nHe urged cardiology experts to prioritize treatment in these regions, asserting that everyone must collaborate to create a healthier and stronger Pakistan.
