\nThe parliamentary leader of Pakistan Peoples Party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Ahmad Karim Kundi, on Monday slammed the Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur over harsh statements and aggressive protests in Punjab and said that instead of legal and constitutional battle the CM and PTI leadership had chosen undemocratic way.
\nSpeaking in the provincial assembly, he said that under Article 154 of the constitution the Chief Minister could request the Prime Minister to convene a meeting of the Council of Common Interest (CCI) in case of any grievance but unfortunately the CCI meeting was not convened so far.
\nHe said that PPP always supported functioning of all the institutions within their constitutional ambit, adding that the party lost two of its great leaders for democracy but never ever provoked people for violent protests.
\nHe said that despite all odds the PTI got full media coverage of all of its protests but on the contrary PPP peacefully fought for almost 50-year for case against Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto without any media support and never ever took law in hand or cause damage to the public properties in any case rather people committed suicide in protest against hanging of Zulfiqar Ali but did not cause damage to public properties.
\nHe recalled that from 1945 to 2010 the martial law was imposed after every ten-year but PPP permanently ended this practice by getting the 18th constitutional amendment passed from the parliament.
\nKundi said that parties like PTI were the blue-eyed and enjoyed full support of certain powers with full media coverage, adding PPP could understand the concerns of the PTI but never support the way they protest.
\nHe said CCI was the right platform to fight for the rights of the province and take up the issues of electricity, gas, water, and tobacco but unfortunately the provincial government was busy in abusing the resources of a poor province by organizing public gatherings and protests in other cities of the country.
\nThe PPP parliamentary leader said that the local representatives had been sitting at home for two and a half years as they had not power or resources. Similarly, 5.5 million children in the province were out of school, the foreign dignitaries and local were being targeted in the province, but the priorities of the provincial government were different and it seemed that they wanted to derail the democratic process in the country.
\nReferring to constitutional courts, he said the party endorses constitution of these courts. Kundi said as long as PTI was in power and enjoying support of undemocratic forces, everything was fine, adding that the PTI candidates were elected on the basis of public sympathy rather the performance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
